580 Series Excess Flow Switch
The 580 Series Excess Flow Switch is designed to precisely monitor and detect increasing or decreasing gas flow rates in critical processes. Unlike mechanical excess flow shut-off valves, shut-off initialized by an excess flow switch can easily be reset with a controller, such as the 585 Series Emergency Shut-off Controller, without significant application disruption. When connected to the 585 Series ESO controller, the excess flow switch closely monitors the gas flow rate. If the flow reaches the pre-set flow rate, the flow switch triggers an action, such as "initiate alarm" or "initiate alarm and shutdown." Excess flow switches are tested and programmed at the factory but can be re-calibrated to the desired flow settings. CONCOA 580 Series excess flow switches ensure immediate shutdown of any gas line in the event of a pipeline break or excess flow condition.
- All-wetted, stainless steel parts permit compatibility with any gas service
- Range of flows and inlet pressures facilitates any installation requiring excess flow shutdown
- Optional mounting bracket (model 5804008) eases installation
- Optional explosion-proof cap (model 5804002) increases safety in hazardous environments
